Different configuration, for sure -- but think you should be OK with the transom mount.

Mine was installed by the shop where my boat is stored in the off season, and I know they contacted the manufacturer to get the location for my boat -- also confirmed use of a transom mount transducer for the my hull, which I wondered about. I think I would start with the manufacturer's help desk, or maybe online mounting instructions for your hull style.

I would think a location might be half way between the trim tab and outdrive, probably on the starboard side if that's where your console is. I'm not sure where mine runs inside the hull, but would probably want to determine your routing early -- looks like you could go through the transom up near the top of the engine compartment, for example, if that will work.

I think I'll be drilling the hole on the starboard side near the corner where the swim plat starts. That should be a little above the water line and then put a clam shell over it and completely fill it and the hole with 5200 inside out. Hopefully routing the wire to the dashboard won't be too hard. As far as the placement of the transducer I believe it is universal. All manufactures recommend to place it away from stream of water and in a flat place usually in the center or to the side of the skeg near the bilge plug.

Mount the transducer 1/2 way between the trim tab and the keel. You don't want it too close to the motor or the tab. Be sure the entire flat surface is below the bottom to ensure full wetting. It also must be perfectly vertical, not parallel with the bottom. Your unit's instructions should be clear in that regard. You don't want it in the center near the plug!!!

Looks like your platform is bolted on. I would drill the hole thru the transom through the back side of the platform, in line with the existing holes. Measure the hole separation on the outside, and then transfer to the inside so you are sure you won't hit anything.

The top edge of the black paint is the waterline. If the waterline bothers you just keep the hole in the white. Running the cable next to the platform will make it susceptible to damage.

Is this a good spot for it.

That's a perfect spot, but I would personally put it in the same place on the stbd side.

You should have a cable tray on the stbd side that leads from the engine and battery to your helm station. That makes feeding the transducer cable a snap. Run a plumbers snake thru the tray and then tie on the cable and pull it back. If you mount the transducer on the port side you will have to route the cable across the engine. The distance between the transducer and the hole thu the transom should be as short as possible.

Yes the starboard is where I plan on installing it. Do I install inline with the hull or do I install completely straight ?

Perfectly vertical, so it shoots stright down to the bottom of the river. So, part of it will protrude below the bottom of the boat, and that will cause a slight roostertail.

Your installation / instruction manual will show all those details.

^^^agree with JimS (three posts). I thought my transducer ended up a little too close to the trim tab (probably a little more clearance than it appears in the pic, but seemed pretty close). But the unit operates without any issues -- think your midpoint placement is better, but probably some tolerance.
