Re: Sad News For La Crosse, WI

A similar thing happened to a Notre Dame student last winter. He attended a weekend party off campus and was very intoxicated. He refused a ride back to the dorm and instead walked back...along the river. Footprints in the snow showed where he slipped and went in. His body was found in the spring.
Same song different verse.

Just like anything else, if you try to ban rivers and booze, you will end up with rivers of booze.

Hey, good idea. Ban rivers and booze. d:)

What I fear will happen is they will just put up a big fence......they talk about it everytime.

I do think this is all alchohol related. It is just odd how all these guys walk in the opposite direction of campus to get to the river. It is a sad sad thing.

Some of the rumors are interesting though I will add......"it is a bad cop who is a serial killer" "all the victoms had their achilles tendons slashed".

The ND student headed for another bar farther away which was closed when he got there. The shortest route back was the bike path along the river. He walked down a slick launch ramp.
There 's really no one to blame but the kid himself. We had the same self discipline challenge when we first went to college. You either learn to control yourself, wash out or die due to drugs and/or alcohol. Sad but true.
