I use salt-a-way concentrate to flush my motor after each trip.Is there a cheaper substitute that I can pour in the premixer that screws to the hose attachment on my motor?I have heard that Ivory liquid soap works,is this true? Also do I have to run the engine to properly flush if I have the hose fittings on the motor?
Thanks

Hi LoggerHead

I just use plain fresh water from the tap and you can't get much cheaper than that! I believe that is all that is required to wash out the salt water.

You should run your motor for at least 10 minutes to ensure that your thermostat opens up all the water passages.

In short, it's far better to run the motor when flushing.
