Santa brought me a new toy! Glastron GT-150!

Okay, so it's literally a toy! Actually, it's a late 1970s vintage Robbe Prinzess, which is a model of the Glastron GT-150. Made in Germany, it is powered by an electric Robbe Roqua outboard motor. The boat measures a bit over 2-feet long. I still have to figure out the electronics and such, as I am learning as I go on this one. I've got a transmitter & receiver coming, along with an electronic speed controller, and a replacement propeller.

It's a lot easier ? but no less fun ? working on this in the basement than it is on the real ones in the garage! I've often thought about building a model of one of my real boats someday. This will have to do for now...

Looks cool. I've got a 48" hull and have been collecting the parts over the years so that when my kid is old enough we can build and run it. This one takes weed-whacker motors though, but the electrics are surprisingly fast as well.

Great kit you got there. I've been R/Cing boats for years. Robbe makes a good product. I like to take them out on the lake with my big boat, and let'em go! If you need any help! give me a holla!

This boat may end up costing me a great deal of money! In my search for info on the Prinzess/GT-150, I've found myself getting sucked into other possible project ideas. I have a small 1970s era 3-point hydro that I lofted last weekend so that I could draw up some plans to build a model of it. I may build it in 1:4 or 1:5 scale to accomodate the Graupner GTX 650 that I just bought. I haven't received the motor yet, so I'm not sure what scale will work best with it... Kinda Mercury looking, though...
