So Monday night I was getting gas around 8:30pm and I hear a loud "THUD" and see a man flying through the air who had just been nailed by a car driving down US 19 in Palm harbor, FL...
Guy landed in a heap, leg more than obviously broken, head bashed, and bleeding everywhere...
News posted an article about it here:
Accident
My concerns are a few...
When they originally posted this article, they said the man was 55 now he is 43, also they said he was hit trying to cross the road (which was true, as I saw it).
Now the article says he was in the southbound "shoulder" of the road heading east??? /boggle
That's an impossibilitly to be traveling in an easterly direction on the shoulder of a road that runs north/south... (and I saw him get hit, he was near the median of the road, not the shoulder).
Why would they change the information like this?(yes its the same article, just wish I had took a screenshot of it yesterday).
I just find it really strange that almost half of the information has changed all of a sudden!
Now, all of the article issues aside... when is the local government/ police going to do something about all of these wrecks on this road?? There are 4 (yes four) articles from pedestrians being hit on this road in one day!
While I do feel sorry for the man that was hit, I have to wonder why people would take any chance, and attempt to "frogger" across an 8 lane, 60mph highway on foot, at night, and nowhere near a cross walk??
Any of you familiar with this road?
Even if not, would you attempt to dash across a road like this?
Are there crazy roads like this near where you live?
