Was getting water in center cylinder of my 78 70hp evinrude. Replaced head gasket still got water so replaced inner 2 exhuast plates and gaskets while in there i noticed a little scoreing on center piston cant feel any groves or scrathes in it.The motor is running okay now no water in cylinder and comp is 95psi on all three cylinders. Can this hurt running motor with piston like this. Thanks for any imput

Hard to say, but it would be cheaper to replace it now rather than run it and maybe cause some major damage.

I've seen a lot of mtrs over the yrs run good with a little scuffing on the pistons. As long as your compression is good and it runs okay, I'd run it. Just make sure you mix your fuel/oil correctly.
