Hello All I'm not exactly new to iboats but i think this is my first post on this topic
I plan to repaint my boat, and also redo some of the bad "custom" work in the interior. There are a lot of hinges screwed to the fiberglass at the stern of the boat, for some sort of 4 inch pad/ seat lol I have no idea what its for but its going. and I'm wondering if there is a fairly easy way to fill the screw holes.

sorry to ask 2 questions on one thread but when i paint the boat i have to remove all snaps and cleats ect. Will they screw into the same hole or do the screw holes strip in fiberglass? Not sure if thats a stupid question or not but to me it seems like the fiberglass wouldn't take screws that well.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks

They should go back in the same holes just use something like 3M4200 sealant/adhesive and this should take care of any "stripping" issues. Replace any bad fasteners with new stainless steel and you should be fine. good luck. tink

For fiberglass holes I have always used an epoxy stick. Bondo sells a marine epoxy stick and you cut a piece off and knead it up.

I have always put a small amount into re-used screw holes and made many screw hole repairs using the same stuff.
