Sea Doo 96 GTX Max Revs

[FUNCAT-YAMAHA]

I have a 96 Sea Doo GTX and it will not run above 6000 rpm.
What should the max be for this machine?
It appears to be an ignition issue that when the engine hits 6000 rpm it immediately goes back to around 4000.
Is there a rev limiter? Can it be adjusted? Do they typically go bad?
I have replaced the rectifier.

max on my 97 gtx was about 6500 - have you replaced the fuel lines (from the grey), cleaned carbs etc?

I have replaced the fuel lines, bypassed the selector and rebuilt the carbs.
It really feels like it is electronically (ignition) lowering the revs.
What else in the fuel system would make it feel like this?

try disconnecting the rectifier? take for a test run?

the rave valves may not be opening up
