I am the proud owner of a new 2008 SeaHunt BX19. I will be putting my Suzuki DT140 on the boat hopefully within the next couple of weeks. My question has to do with the boat's wiring. Under the center console I have two large positive battery leads and one negative. In the rear of the boat I have one large positive lead (with a switched breaker) and one negative along with a smaller brown/black wire with an inline fuse. I am confused as to how and where to hook up the batteries. Can someone please advise?

Re: Sea Hunt BX19 wiring questions

Without more information about where the wires go, we can't be positive but here are some very likely probabilities.

Rear: Red to battery positive. Black to battery negative. The brown wire is very likely the feed for the bilge pump float switch and also connects to battery positive. But I would also look around for another small black wire which would be the bilge pump ground wire. It would connect to the battery negative terminal.

As for the console cables, I suspect those are for a second battery to be used for a trolling motor or perhaps an accessory/house battery.
