I have a Montgomery Ward Sea King 3.5HP outboard with a Clinton engine model # K350 3106A. I'm wondering what the proper oil/gas mix ratio is and also if I need to use a lead additive in the gas? I've had many conflicting responses to this post on other forums. Some people say the mix is 24:1 using regular 2 cycle lawnmower/chainsaw oil and lead aditive, some say 40:1 using 2 cycle marine oil and no lead additive. Who's right? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

K350 is a 5.76 cu in displacement 4.48 and 5.76 are listed at 16:1 manual says "a high quality outboard oil should be used"TCW3 oil will work.
Some say with todays modern oils you can run 24:1.I wouldn't on these motors.

Those engines started life as a chainsaw. As a chainsaw, they used 16:1. I fail to see how it got to be able to use less oil just because somebody stuck it on an outboard. If anything, the outboard works harder and gets hotter than the chainsaw ever did. Just my 2c.
