Hello everyone. I am looking for some help on here so I hope you can help me out. So here are my questions I have a Sea King 6hp engine now.

1. What Year would this be. VWB20906A 07X10421. .

2. I see that you can get a Prop that has 3 blades on it and my engine has 2. All that is wrong is that the rubber free wheels to much and when the motors goes full throttle i'm still at a snails pace. any way of tightening up the rubber or do I need a new prop.

3. I get a little water out of the weep hole at the top of the engine. How much water is suppose to come out? I have seen other engines out there with a steady stream of water but mine is just a spray bottle type of spray. If I need a new pump where would I get one and what is the number of the part/s

Thanks Harry

Re: Sea King 6hp questions

That's a 1970; manufactured by Chrysler.

A prop shop might be able to repair the hub; although it would probably be cheaper to replace it if you can find one.

The cooling mist sounds normal for that motor.

On #2---Highly unlikely any shop can even find a replacement hub to put in it. Look for a new prop.

Re: Sea King 6hp questions

Got some JB Weld epoxy?
On a smaller outboard with a 'spun out' shock hub, I've experienced success by cleaning both parts with alcohol, then epoxying them back together. I wouldn't try it on anything above 10HP, however. And if you're likely to be hitting a buncha stumps/rocks... don't bother - except to keep it on hand as a spare.
