Fast little boat, somewhat finicky motor. I've had numerous sugar sand jetboats which were based on the same hull bottom and engine platform. That engine has some Force/Chrylser DNA in it, but not as much as the 90/95hp sportjets. Engine parts are still available. Smart tabs make a huge difference on the hull, but on mine, I also installed some wire clips so I could secure them in the full up position if I wanted to go out and play.
Never, ever start the engine if the boat isn't in the water. Gas fumes build up in the exhaust and will blow the ride plate off, or at least bend it.
