Sea Ray keeps blowing ignition fuse

Hi guys-I've got an '05 Sea Ray 185 Sport w/4.3L Mercruiser. Over the winter, we had new bellows put on and the temp gauge swapped. Just put it in over the weekend. Ran great all yesterday but today put a skier behind and it blew the 15amp ignition fuse. I happened to have another and put it in but it blew that a minute later. Do you think the issue could be related to the new gauge our marina put in? Also, are these fuses universal? Meaning, if I go get another 15amp fuse to try, will that be OK or do they need to be a special variant of fuse (e.g. marine grade)?

fuse is listed as a 20A not 15A
try disconnecting the purple wire to check .If not check for anything wired into the ign circuit like radios or stereos

It's possible they wired the temp gauge incorrectly as it gets it's power from the ignition circuit. As BT_Doctur suggested, try disconnecting the purple (ignition) wire from the temp gauge and see if it changes. I suspect that they're somehow sending the ignition wire through the temp sensor and the fuse blew when the temperature came up and the resistance (to ground) across the sensor (I'm making an assumption that the resistance is inverse to the temp) got low enough to blow the fuse.
