My 55 hp nissan has been setting up for a while. It doesn't run good at idel or low speed. Runs excellent at high speed. Will seafoam in the gas help? Will seafoam hurt the engine? thanks for your help

It won't hurt the engine...But, I doubt it will do much good. Fuel additives can help to prevent some types of problems from occuring in the short term. They never seem to work to cure an existing problem.

I would suggest doing a good carb clean (soak in carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air) .....

Re: Seafoam and my Nissan motor

Full strength seafoam will eat and melt the worst carb tar like sludge imaginable...but full strength will also eat at least SOME fuel lines. High concentrations as listed on their can ate the lines between my carbs and fuel pump but not the tank line. It sat several month though. I don't run it in the fuel after that episode. I take grungy carbs off and fill them with seafoam. After sitting on the bench overnight everything is bright, clean and solids turned to liquid.
