Search Light on MFG Westfield

I have a 1964 MFG Westfield with a remote searchlight. The light is controlled by a copper rod running through an aluminum tube. Obviously the copper and aluminum mixture have fused together. Does anyone have any advice on how to repair this or a suitable replacement?

remove it from the mounting brakets and the lite and soak it in pbblaster oil for awhile to see if it will free up

or maybe just as eazy to fab up a new one,useing the old one as a pattern.
