Yep, and that includes merit pay and promotion pay. I don't know of another company that does that. Law requires companies to provide a job, not necessarily "their" job, for those returning. I was left with the impression that Sears provided them with their original job.
Are you saying they are required to pay difference, continue all benefits including seniority, bonuses and insurance coverage? That runs Sears about $10million a year. I don't think so. I agree that they are required to "rehire", but that is a far cry from continued employment, which is essentially what Sears does.
