I just installed a seastar system today all seems fine but ,it feels a little hard to turn compared to others I have tested. I could not find in the manual anywhere, does it matter what hose from the helm goes to what side of the cylinder?

yes it matters unless you dont care if port is port or stbd is stbd.
yes its clearly defined in the seastar helm and cylinder installation manuals.
on the back of the helm the ports are marked P and S.
P goes to the port steering fitting on the cylinder and S goes to the stbd fitting.
the cylinder fittings will depend on the steering cylinder used.
if the helm feels clunky or crunchy you still have air in it.
if you can grab the back of the engine and move if left or right then the cylinder still has air in it.

Thanks, I could not see the back of the helm after I installed it..and the Man says nothing about it that I could find..

I do not think I have any air? I used one of those brake bleeding vacum pumps to bleed it worked great!
