seat bolt problems

I am instaling new seats in my boat, and I ran into a problem. I am using stanless lag bolts to secure them down, but when I tighten them down the threads go past the wood so they won't tighten up. I can't use shorter ones because they all have the same size unthreaded shanks. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to secure my seats?

Oh man, I'm drawing a blank on bolt names. You know, those bolts with the folding wings on the nut....fold the wings down, insert into hole, tighten bolt securely. What are they called? Anyway...that should work if your boat floor is sound.

Ace Hardware offers something similar called "togglers". They're aluminum so rust woon't be an issue as long as you use stainless bolts.

They're alot cheaper too.

Thanks guys! Talk about fast replies! I had thought about the fastners from the hardware store but I didn't know they were aluminum. I have also seen some that were clost to the ones from west marine at the hardeware store. So at least I have some options now besides sitting on a five gallon bucket!
