I am trying to mount the seats in my boat and i was going to use 7" pedistals because they seamed a good height. After sitting on them before mount i really think I am sitting way to high. Is there anything shorter than that maybe rails or something that was used back them? I am at a lose on what i should do.

Depends on how thick your seat cushion is etc. What kind of seat are you using?? Pics??

Your boat is very similar to mine. You can see it by clicking on the thread in my signature.
You can build your own bases if you want. I built these for mine from PVC.

Personally I really don't think they are too tall.

ok it is 8.5" to the bottom of the seat, the cushion is 3.5" and the distance from the floor to the top of the rail is 19"

I am kind of wondering if i should cut the flange off and lower it. problem is it will leave me with a 2 to 3" pedestal, although i might just have to do it.

Or Make your Own pedestals or platforms and coat em with epoxy.
