Try getting your hands on some "BOELUBE" to help keep your cutting tools from clogging with aluminum. This stuff works pretty good - developed by Boeing and manufactured and marketed by The Orelube Corporation in NY. By the way, I'm not affiliated with either company, nor do I get commission on sales!

Frank, sorry to resurrect this old thread, but did you complete the project and what was the outcome ?

Actually, I didn't realize that I started this project so long ago. The engine was mounted, tested, dismounted, and is still sitting in front of my garage with no lower unit. I did post another thread about its performance but don't remember when, or the name.

The engine was a disappointment: On the test boat where I would have expected a minimum of 50 MPH, the engine only delivered 35. That is a significant drop and I simply have not had time to mess with it to see where the problem is.
