Serial number help please

Just picked up a new-to-me Merc 20HP short-shaft, electric start, remote controls, outboard.

Rebuilt engine after a no-oil meltdown. Purrs like a kitten.

Serial number is 7149461. All I can find online is that this was a Canadian model. I would guess 1979, but beyond that have no information.

What year is this really? What "normal" model is it compatible to should I need parts? Any comments / concerns regarding this model?

should be a 1980. would be the same as a US model for parts
