I was backing out of my driveway one morning and to my surprise a mercury 3.3 hp motor laid directly in my path. Obviously the unit had broken from the swivel mount of a boat and landed to rest. I called the police and after no one called in to say that their motor was stolen or missing, again to my surprise the police said you own it now. The problem I have is the serial number is located on the swivel mount which I don't have acess to. Any other way to identify this motor otherwise? For I want to buy a swivel mount to put on a boat I hope will also fall off someones trailer and land in my driveway as well.
