Serial number won't match?

I just bought a mirrocraft boat and it has and 85 hp merc motor on it. I went into a website with the serial number and i can't get it to match up? The serial number i have is 4722676. Can anyone tell me what year it is?

How did you guys know that? What is the website you went to? I have an older mirrocraft that I would like to know the year on...

I looked your engine number up in a Mercury Service Bulletin, whats the model and serial # on the hull

maybe I was mistaken. I thought he was looking for the year of the boat. I was wanting to find the year of my MirroCraft.

Did you get a registration or title with the purchase of the boat? That is how to prove ownership when you register it in your name. The year of the boat should be on those documents.

I have noticed this myself with mercurypartsexpress.com My serial number produces no hit. I have to put in the lowest number of my year to get a hit.

If anyone knows why this happens, I'm curious to find out
