IF you have throttle body fuel injection, pumping the throttle does nothing.
Just for clarification, The engine serial number shows this engine to be carbureted.

I plan on using the boat through October, and I was wondering if adding a gallon or 2 of fresh gas would help boost the existing gas, or is there something else I should do? Thanks for all of your help.
Like mentioned above, the fuel you have now from June is fine to run for the remainder of the year.

Bear in mind that with todays fuel that has the potential of fuel separation, Overall, it's probably a better idea for you to keep your fuel tank closer to empty than full during your non use time. With that mentioned, 'If so desired by you, you could guesstimate the amount of fuel left in the tank and add some fuel stabilizer to the rest of the fuel to help protect the fuel for next years use. http://www.iboats.com/Boat-Parts-Ac...ched.1--session_id.654660195?q=Fuel stablizer

That's right, my engine has a 2 barrel carburetor.

Thanks to both of you for the comments on the fuel.

I am looking forward to great weather this weekend, so I should be able to get the boat out for a good run.

Later,
Brian

Update: I took the boat out last weekend. When I started the engine, the volt meter on the dash was reading less than 12 volts again. I let the engine warm up for a while. At idle, the volts stayed under 12. When I revved the engine up to around 2000 RPMs, the volt guage read a little under 13 volts. Out on the water, it ran about 13.5 volts and sometimes closer to 14.

I am thinking I may still have a problem with the old alternator. What are your thoughts on my test results?

I forgot to mention that before I took the boat out, I had my brand new battery on a trickle charger so I know it was fully charged.

You probably don't have an issue. If your using the boats battery gauge then I would suggest using a hand held meter. If hand held meter readings at the ALT matches the boats then take the ALT to a shop to have it checked. It's normal for the ALT to not put out until the boat rpm's come up the first time. So you should be reading 13.5 or more when running
