Service/Maintenace manual (DPS)

Hi .... looking for information on how to change the Duoprops on 4.3 Volvo 280-C DPS drive. Which I think are referred to as F-Series props.
Previously had Merc alpha and the handbook was detailed & included torques settings.

Volvo owners handbook simply says go to Maintenace & Service Manual

So 2 part Q ..... first part is there a download on this site for Volvo Penta Maintenace & Service manual, I did try to find, without luck

2nd Q ... as an interim does anybody know what the torque settings are for front & rear prop nuts.

Just read a post where guys front prop had fallen off twice - so don't want to get it wrong - SS props are not cheap.


Assume I have to but the specialist tool for the rear prop nut.

however you can look at the boatinfo site on your DPS drive.

the PDF I posted the other day in your other similar thread shows the retaining fasteners as well.

Oops, Just took a look at an Operators manual for a new engine. Your right ---- not in there anymore. Looks like you will need the service manual.

You need to read your Operators manual. Go a little further and find the instructions in the maintenance section. It will list the steps, provide with the part number of the tool you need and has a nice picture.

The O.P. Didn’t supply a model number or serial number, so I can’t be sure. But I was able to get a free Service and Maintenance manual for a late model V6-280. Don’t know if there’s a difference between North America and the EU
