setting floats

I know you guys are going to tell me to get the manual but Im in a postion that I do not have access to a manual even if some can tell me a link that I can go to. It is a 1978 merc 800 (80 hp) 4cly 2 cycle 2 carbs thanks in advance.

Holding the carb upside down the bottom of the float should measure 11/16" to the carb base where the float bowl attaches
