Setting up 2 and 3 outboards on a boat

My question is when you put 2 outboards on a boat I have been told one prop turns clockwise and the other counterclockwise. If so which side turns what way. Also if you have 3 outboards on how are those turning. Might be a silly question but i'm just curious. Thanks.

Can't put 3 motors on a boat. Prop rotation would be so far out of balance, the boat would flip over. ;)

That's what I thought because I had seen several pics in magazines of boats with 3 on them. That's why I asked.

the third motor has an agigitator,similar to a washing machie, that spins the middle prop back and forth rapidly.

Assuming that one of the engines is counter-rotating, a 3 engine boat handles just like a 1-engine boat.
