Re: Seven days and counting.

I appreciates the support guys, thanks. I've been chewing Trident sugarless with whitening stuff in it. My dad died of lung cancer and mom is recovering from breast cancer. I know all about chemo and radiation that is why I'm kicking the habit. What's puzzle me is how come some people smoke for many years and never develope cancer.

It is a known medical and scientific fact that some people have a genetic resistance to cancer, just as some people are genetically more at risk for it. My grandfather (the one who just died of a stroke and pnuemonia) smoked 2 packs a day for over 60 years, he had asbestosis of the lungs and spent 18 hours a day in the sun with no sunscreen. He had many lesions removed from his skin over the years and his skin got to be like tissue paper; but he never developed any cancer or pre-cancer cells, ever. Go figure. My other grandfather who died in '91 was the most health concious person you'd ever want to know, swam laps in the pool, took diet supplements, ate only home grown all organic foods, never smoked at all, never drank, he died of prostate cancer. Go figure.
