Does anyone know where a person can buy an extension to make a short shaft evinrude motor into a long shaft motor?

Re: Shaft Extension

You may be better off finding a long shaft with a bad top end and use the lower end parts for your motor.

You'll need to define exactly what you need. What is the model number of the engine? Do you need all of the parts needed to convert the engine to long shaft?

Depends on the motor. Some are easier to convert than others...

Re: Shaft Extension

Sounds like you are trying to lengthen one of the older motors for which an extension can be placed between the midsection and the lower unit. EBay is a good source for these but you don't see them a lot. Sometimes an outboard motor dealer will have a junk motor pile "out back" and that can be a good resource too. Bear in mind, however, that you will need the longer driveshaft and a longer water tube as well.

Longer driveshaft, water tube and shift linkage required if applicable to your model.
