I have 4.3 L MPI MerCruisers on my boat with Alpha 1 drives. My engines sometimes stall when in neutral. This is not related to shifting the gears. The engines were just tuned with new caps, rotors, plugs. Fuel separators are new. Someone suggested disconnecting the shift anticipation mode connector stating it would increase my idle speed by 25 RPM. My engines currently idle at 600 RPM. Any thoughts on this? Can I harm anything? Does the shift anticipation mode only effect RPM when the dog clutch is being engaged?
