I need to replace this somehow It got "sliced" I really dont see how this could have happened. Can anyone tell me what tools I will need to do this? maybe any foreseeable problem areas? My exhaust and u-joint bellows look fine.

Here is a link to the service manual. Section 4A will tell you how to remove the shiftcable and replace the bellows. If that shift cable is the original, I would replace it in the process, since you have to remove it to replace the bellows.

http://www.boatfix.com/merc/Servmanl/6/6covr3.pdf

Thanks Don You should start an ebay business. I am on the pwctoday forum alot and there is a guy on there who has jetskimechanic.com and the reason he does so well is because of all his input to the forum. I feel kinda bad getting all this help for free.

You know Don that isnt a bad idea. They have these computer fix places that you call and they charge your credit card for the time they talk you through the problem. No more dirty hands, clothes, boots, lol
