Hey all. Got the boat in the water (twin 5.7 mercruiser) and all went well the first trip. Last time we had it out, it was stalling while going from either forward or reverse to neutral. This motor is the LH motor, so your typical forward (shifter all the way towards the stern) is reverse in my application.
The newest issue is that when I shift from neutral to forward, it stalls right out. If I shift from neutral to reverse (usual forward) it goes in and out fine. I have Morse controls which were factory on my sea ray, so the throttle and shift are separate.
The lower shift cable is brand new as well as full service to the drive, and I took it off the shift mechanism to verify it wasn’t binding and it is free with no binding and slips in and out of gear perfect while spinning the prop by hand.
What should I look into? I know the issue is the shift interrupter but is there a way to adjust it?
thanks
