Shift cable causing stalling?

Hey all. Got the boat in the water (twin 5.7 mercruiser) and all went well the first trip. Last time we had it out, it was stalling while going from either forward or reverse to neutral. This motor is the LH motor, so your typical forward (shifter all the way towards the stern) is reverse in my application.
The newest issue is that when I shift from neutral to forward, it stalls right out. If I shift from neutral to reverse (usual forward) it goes in and out fine. I have Morse controls which were factory on my sea ray, so the throttle and shift are separate.
The lower shift cable is brand new as well as full service to the drive, and I took it off the shift mechanism to verify it wasn’t binding and it is free with no binding and slips in and out of gear perfect while spinning the prop by hand.
What should I look into? I know the issue is the shift interrupter but is there a way to adjust it?

thanks

.
Props swapped to the wrong shaft, or if it's got a counter-rotate lower on a drive, they put the wrong lower on the wrong side when they did the service/shift cable replacement.

Sorry guys I should’ve been more clear. The shifters work correctly. What i was referring to is the shift cable itself. Following the adjustment procedure, to set the barrel and bolt hole length to 6”, you must engage the cable pushed in fully (towards the transom). This on one motor is forward for me and reverse for the other.
I also ended up adjusting the cables again and now it is working good, it is weird that it will still sometimes stall going from in gear to neutral, but I think it is actually my upper cables that are a little worn/stiff because the boat is a 1999. I hate this shifters.. they are Morse controls but they are separate shift and throttle and it can be a pain - especially trying to adjust them.

Worn upper cable can't trip the shift interrupt switch. Even if it was frozen solid, that's not what's causing your problem. If the switch is being tripped incorrectly, the problem is on the shift plate, or 'south' of it.

Weak/broken lever spring.
switch out of adjustment
cable sticking
crud in the bottom of the shift slide, or the shift slide cavity in either/or bell housing or drive
bent shift shafts (there are 3 to check)
damaged upper shift shaft seal and bushing
corroded lower shift shaft bushing
damaged shift crank/shift spool.

Somethings wrong some place. Both shifters in full Fwd meaning the handels are full Fwd for any adjustments. Reverse rotation means you have to shift into reverse to remove the drive. it is the only position the shift shoes are in a straight line .
