Does anyone know the size of the shift cable nut on the Alpha Drives? Im looking to replace the shift bellow and will need to make a tool to get in there. Im assuming a modified socket is the best approach to this, correct? Thank you.

Re: Shift Cable Nut Tool

if you get one with the hex on the back you can either turn with wrench or use second socket over hex.

If your cable threads in from the back of the bellhousing like the older styles, you will need to tap out the front side of the bell housing to fit a new cable.
The old style cable that threads in from back are NLA.
Hope this helps.

Definitely helps. Fortunately I have the newer style where the retainer is on the front so no taping is necessary. Thanks.

Re: Shift Cable Nut Tool

I used a 9/16" nut driver to tighten my new one on. The handle was hollow and it worked well. I believe a 1/2" drive 9/16" deep socket might do the trick too, think it needed to be 3 or 3 1/4" long.
