I have to agree, Bond-o helps out a lot here, he can use whatever language that pleases him.

Is the merc service manual link working? It didn't work when I tried it.

Hi, I had the same condition on my boat and it turned out to be the shift cable. If you are going to change out the cable you should look into replacing the bellows while the outdrive is apart. You will only be paying for the parts and some additional labour.

Just replaces the lower unit water pump a couple of months ago, and replaced the bellows at that time too. Thank you for your response and advise.
