Shift Shaft

Im looking for a shift shaft for a 1979 1400 140 hp , i have no serial number its gone , the shaft with the extension on it is 21.5 inches long , without the extension is about 18 inches long I will post a pic tomarrow whan its light so it will make it a little easier

Do you need the upper shift shaft or the lower shift shaft.

BTW- the gearcases for all the 4/6 cylinder inline Mercs from the early 70s thru the mid 80s are the same. Some of the 4 cyl gearcases have a different gear ratio, however.
