I wanted to know it the shifter interupt sw on a 2000 175 Johnson should interupt cyl 1,3, 5, every time you shift into gear ? The outboard shop told me its a emergency type of thing and does not engage every time you shift .
It works every time you shift under load. Their answer has to make you laugh, what type of emergency would call for a interrupt switch?. I should say that it work's when you shift while the engine is under load, such as when you go from in gear to neautral.
JBB: Talk a about a BS line, I once went to a shop with my son looking for a set of "Q" type plugs for his engine. We were told the Q type plugs were meant only for engines' run in Canada.

Just like all us Canadians up here in the wild white north live in igloos and have dog sled teams! ALthough, Im sure the dogs would be cheaper than my truck with fuel prices like they are right now.
If only I could teach the dogs to back my boat down the ramp
