I would just put it back together, but I want the Power Tilt limit switch to work for safety reasons. Gimbal Ring Removal 60-80-90.jpg

46767 K20-140-160 Sterndrive - Gimbal and Steering Lever.jpg I need to remove the gimbal ring to replace the Power Tilt sensor.

I have already removed the lower swivel pin.

I have the slide hammer and will have the appropriate adapter to remove the splined upper swivel pin.

(I received the MC-I upper swivel pin puller and of course, it is different than the MerCruiser 120 slide hammer puller. But I think I have the right one on the way now...)

But the steering lever needs to be removed first because it is installed on the splined upper swivel pin.

Looking at the diagram, does anyone make a threaded port kit to remove the shift lever on a MerCruiser 120?

Can I get it done by just drilling/hole sawing on the sides of the upper transom plate?

Will the JR Marine kit work? Do I have to do the aft window or just the side hole saws?

E350 My apologies. I have only been stripping and reassembling these things for over 25 years. It does appear for that whole time, when I have been ordering all the same parts for the same boxes, they are indeed different. Thank you for pointing this out to me.

Good luck in the future...

Chris.......

Chris please accept my apologies. I was confused and wrong. I have been meaning to come back to this thread to eat humble pie. You, of course, are correct. This is directly from the 1967 OEM Manual, my stern drive is a:

Mercruiser I Type Model 120
