Shipping a Boat, Would you Shrink Wrap It?

If you were shipping a 30 something Cruiser a 1,000 miles on an open carrier, would you have it shrink wrapped before transport? I figured it would help keep road grime and other nondesirable effects off the boat, maybe even see if they can shrinkwrap down to the water line or below to help protect the gelcoat? Thoughts?

Good idea.the way things get stolen at truck stops it would be a good move.Plus the fact it keeps dirt, rain and bugs out..

Just not having to clean that big of a boat would make it worth it, if it happened to rain during the trip YIKES!

I would for sure. You can buy the shrink wrap here on iboats. I have a buddy that does his every winter so he has no worries. You can buy an electric heat gun or the butane ones on the internet. The ones they offer for "marine" are about 5 times as expensive. He uses an electric heat gun he bought from harbor freight or traders world for a few $$. It takes a little longer but he gets it done in under 30 minutes for his 22'.
