That ins. quote seems VERY high to me, I pay around $150.00 on a $13,000.00 declared value Crownline. Shop around a bit, I know its nice to keep things all in the family as far as ins. goes but thats way out of the ball park. Check some of the bigger companies like Boat U.S. Geico, Progressive, etc. I owned a Wellcraft and loved it, good boats with nice looks, my brother owned a Maxum for a number of years, also was a great boat with no real problems. Good luck on a purchase just continue to do your homework as you have and make an educated purchase.
