Should I fix it or scrap it?

I bought a boat a couple of weeks back it was in pretty good shape until I looked under the dash. The motor is great and the all around is pretty solid. but I found that the wiring harness had a burnt ground wire in it and it seems to have been like that for a while. It has only one gauge speedometer and it looks like he had a radio in there but now there's a big rectangular hole there. Just wondering should I restore it or scrape it....I'm retired military and i don't work..only a vol. firefighter so I have more than enough time. It has a 1980 80hp merc. 4cyl 2 stroke, and its a 1990 Thundercraft 156ss.

if motor and hull are a good to resonable shape and you have time and money, spend them both. it all can be fixed replaced, or bought new! Have a great time with it, and when in doubt just come back to iboats.
