Re: Should Scalia step aside?

Well,....... 1st off,..... I'm Not a Conservitive,......Although I DO agree with the Republicans Much More than MOST Democrats......

I'm Registered as an Independent,....... Always Have Been,... As was Mom,+ Dad......
Ayuh,... I didn't fall far from My tree,.....

And,... I've watched My home state of Maine,.. Fall prey to the Liberals,....
What WAS Wild,+ Free Millions of Acres of My Up-bringing is Now Restricted Access....
Ayuh,..... That's Right,... I can't go play in the Beautiful places I once knew,... Millions of acres either bought up,..
Or more often Stolen by the Liberals,.....

That's MY Background,+ has fueled My Hatred for the Liberal Tree Huggers.......
And,... No,.. It wasn't a Mistype,.. It was an attempt at a Humorous Pun.......
If you're Offended by being called Who you appear to Be,..... I Apologize......

Now,........Back to the Topic,.........

Point 1.The issue is should a Supreme court Justice have preconceived opinions about a case that could come before him.
The Only Issue here is that You see An ISSUE.........
I see a Judge who Is,+ Has Stated the LAW....... Not his Opinion...........

This is about Enemy Combatants,... POWs......
This is a WAR,..... Not a Criminal Issue,......The Last administration Tried that tactic,......
That got us 9-11...........Along with How Many More Attacks by the Criminals,..?????.....

IF the attacks on US had been Prosecuted as the WAR that it Is,......
9-11 NEVER would have Happened.............

I'm not old enough to remember whether there were German POW Trials,......
I've NEVER Ever Read anything,.. Anywhere about such Trials,......
They were Detained for the Duration of the WAR,....
And,......
I Fail to see ANY Difference with the New POWs in This WAR.............

Re: Should Scalia step aside?

Well Bondo looks like we have some common ground after all. As for as the pun no offense taken I guess you didn’t see the misspelled bongo .
This administration has this little land grab called "National Forest Land Conveyance for Rural Communities Act" a proposal to sell more than 200,000 acres of national forest land to private developers. Rural schools reportedly receive 25 percent of the proceeds from federal forest timber sales. But as restrictions on national forest timber have increased, revenues have decreased. To make up for this shortfall, Bush hopes to raise $800 million from the sale of national property to funnel to rural schools.
To make a long story short bondo they are proposing to take 21,000 acres of Missouri's Mark Twain National Forest as "available property.” man that really sux that is prime hunting property. That is my fall playground.
The point that I am trying to make in this post is that the government land grab crosses party lines it has no political affiliation. This proposal is dumb from a political standpoint. Look this our Governor is Matt Blunt, a Conservative republican, son of Roy Blunt he is the Congressman that has taken Tom Delays place, Missouri was a swing state in the last election, Two republican senators. Can you see Where im going with this tirade Bondo? This birds not going to fly very far.
I have nothing against funding rural schools but this seems so shortsighted to me President bush hopes to raise $800 million from the sale of national property to funnel to rural schools. What land will the government sell when the next short fall occurs?
The point im tying to make is that conservatives will try to steal as much of your prime playground as will liberals,by the way never in my life have I voted a straight ticket.

EVERYONE is entitled to have an opinion on a subject. A qualified judge is one who has shown over the years that he can put his own opinion aside and judge by the facts presented before him. Justice Scalia has demonstrated that he does listen only to the facts before him in weighing his decisions. That is what got him into the SCOTUS position that he occupies. The Senate made sure of that!

Ayuh,.......... I Noticed,......TreeHugger....... :D

I wandered Off Topic to give you alittle Insight into WHY I have No Use for Liberals,......
How our Former Liberal Government Bought Up,+ Stole My Homelands..............

And,...... I have No Problem with our Government Selling it's Surpluses,...... Whether it's Army Jeeps,... Or Land,.......

I Don't even Care Which Account it's credited to.... Pay Down the National Debt with it would be Fine........

I'd just Love to see the 6 Mile by 6 Mile square of land, up in Northcentral Maine come up on the Auction Block..........
Sunkhaze Meadows National Wildlife Refuge

Milford. Once a peat bog, Sunkhaze Meadows is now a 10,000 acre sanctuary for a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and insects.
That's MY Home Town..........Danm near the Whole Town is now Off Limits....... :(

So,.... You see,.... We Don't have Any Common Ground.......

BTW,....... The Topic is whether a Judge should Rule on Law,....... Or Legislate from the Bench.......
Nah Bondo im not going to waste my breath any more on trying to convert you to liberalism. Will try to give you a little more insight to what I was referring to when I mentioned Mark Twain national forest though.
As for the Skalia issue that’s dead as 60/40 divide I can recognize a good thumping as well as the next guy, My first name is Don but the last name is not Quixote. Will not fight windmills. ;)
The national forest in the northeast must be a little different than they are around here see the cut /paste. When the property’s sell around this area the posted signs go up forbidding hunting/fishing before the for sale signs go away. Check the web site out you will see what I mean .

Welcome to limitless opportunities in Missouri's national forest!
The beautiful Ozarks serve as the setting for a wide variety of activities, and you have 1.5 million acres to roam.
Fourteen floatable streams and 16 lakes from 3 acres to 440 acres await you. You'll find trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, or ATV/motorcycle. Unwind in our campgrounds and picnic areas.
Focusing on ecology aesthetics, wildlife, and recreation has yielded a national forest that has truly come back from being "lands that nobody wanted" to the lovely woodlands it is today. Come and enjoy!
Click on a subject for additional information:
· Golden passports
· Water Activities (Boating and Canoeing)
· Camping
· Group Camping
· RV and Trailer Space
· Fishing
· Hiking/ATV/Bicycle/Equestrian Trails
· Picnicking
· Recreational Fees
· Special Use Permits Brochure explains the permit requirements and when or how to obtain a permit.
· Wildlife
· Wilderness
· Hunting
Our Quickpicks provides you with info on available services for a location/area on the Forest. (Under construction, some links are not yet available, you may send the webmaster your comments. Thank You)

http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/marktwain/recreation/

Treedancer, you keep forgetting that the defendent declared war on us. He wants to kill us. He expects rights when he gave them up to fight us. The judge shouldn't have to give up his opinion to sit on a case where there really is no case. He should be in a military court.

ztim04, Liberals do not forget, they ignore. Regardless of what the rank and file liberal thinks, the Liberal elite will settle for nothing less than their return to power. If that means the destruction of the strength and vitality of America, then so be it.
