The lower unit does not contact the crankcase. Not sure why he keeps saying that.
It is not inside the crankcase. It slides into the end of the crankshaft. That's as close as it gets.He was saying they put a grease on the end of the driveshaft. Do is inside the crankcase, correct? That is what he thinks is contaminating the oil possibly. didn't mean it was the lower end causing it.
Did you take a picture of the oil you drained?
