Try looking up 'used billboard' on ebay. You can get a gigantic tarp on the cheap, and it's like 22 mil (vs 6 for a standard 'heavy duty' tarp).

When I purchased my boat it came with a support system and tarp the previous owner had on it. It was in his yard and was set up to cover the boat completely. There was zero flapping, and the tarp caused no damage to the boat. Maybe he was lucky and got it perfect somehow.

Hopefully I can follow in his footsteps.

The secret is to build the cover steep enough like SnobikeMike has done. That way the snow falls right off due to the slope of the cover, and there is air flow under the top cover.. The largest boat I have had is 24 feet, and I built a 2x4 tee pee frame for $15, and bought a 20x30 blue plastic tarp for $30. I got 4 years out of this system for cost of $13 per year. Tarp would have gone another year, but I sold the boat.

Underneath I just had my tonneau cover, so it any water got through it ran off

Re: Shrinkwrap, tarp or, custom cover?

Just found a few photos from when I picked the boat up. This was the previous owners set up, which will be going back on in a week or two. In the photo with the tarp on, we had begun undoing the bow and stern, which explains why it is loose. The wood bracing appeared to secure it fine, and no indications of it failing, pooling, or causing damage could be seen...

I guess I will find out this winter.

The plan now is to actually do a very similar set up, just new wood, and maybe different attachment points. The shape and set up did seem to work well though.

Wow I was going to search shringwrap but this was conveniently at the top of the forum. After reading everyone's responses I think I will be fine just using my heacy duty 20' x 30' tarp I bought from fleetfarm and some strategically placed pvc piping in some sort of a-frame fashion for my boat. It's a lot smaller than yours though.
