I have a Flo-Torq III hub on my Merc 115efi with a Mercury ss prop. Everything was properly installed and correctly torqued to specs (100lbft). The torq was re-checked after the first run also. The Delrin sleeve is not installed backwards and the correct thrust washer was used (the one that came with the kit). I have what seems to be a good bit of end-play in the prop. So as not to confuse what I'm saying, if you grab the prop blades and try to pull the prop back, it moves what seems to be around 1/8 inch or so. I have not placed a machinst rule on it to measure precisely but it surely feels and looks like more play that with other prop/hub installations I have run on this gearcase.

Does this normal or is there something amiss? I am thinking the two-peice delrin sleeve is "flexing" in and out when I tug on the prop.

WOW!--100 foot pounds? are you sure that's not a misprint? That's five grunts. you need a breaker bar or large torque wrench to get that tight. Outboard flywheels are only about 95 ft lbs. I have trouble imagining a prop that tight.

Frank - Yep, the stock torque of 55lbft is increased to 100 on the Flo-Torq III.

10-4 on it being normal. What you have is that the shifter in the lower unit is spring loaded so that the teeth of the clutch dog can move over the sawtoothed face of the forward gear allowing the free wheeling action when decelerating. Gotta have space for it to move.

Thanks guys, I just wanted to put my fears to rest and it sounds like this is normal.
