Went through everything on the boat trying to figure out the alarm issue and at the end found out the screen in the engine oil tank was gummed up ond would not allow enough oil through so that the float would rise. easy fix
(First time boat owner i guess ill figure all this stuff out)

Re: simple alarm fix

Nice find!!!...Sometimes the most difficult problems have the easiest solutions and it's nice when you can figure it out yourself. It's much more satisfying than paying a mechanic $85.00 an hour with a 1-hour minimum for a 15-minute job but then again, I guess we pay them for what they know, not necessarily what they do. Again, congratulations and thanks for the info.

Re: simple alarm fix

and if routine maint ,just like the manual says, had been followed this thread would not exist.
3 bars flashing and an alarm sounding usually indicates slow or no oil transfer.
if the electrical circuits are good then its usually a clogged or restricted filter.
its also why maint is important so I dont get calls from folks in the atlantic 20 miles up the beach.
