Hi all I would like to hear if anyone has the famous SPDS that holds temperature consistantly and doesn't clog with sand every beaching.
I am seriously considering changing to a PPt full closed system to straighten the water flow through the motor and stop clearing hoses.
My 5.0 L MPI Alpha 2008 is a royal PIA and I'm wondering if its just my luck.

Why not just stop running it thru sand. Fill the block up and you`ll always be running hot.

If you have been running in salt-water, forget it... It'll cause more problems than it solves....

I've got SPDS on my 4.3MPI and it's dead solid on temperature, and I've never had any sand in it... (Probably because my preference is water that's more than 6" deep ;))

Not 'smart', just a little 'tongue in cheek'.... ;)
I'm on the west coast so my normal water depth is greater than 30 feet. Been fishing in 600'

I have the single point drain and have not had a problem with sand. I beach at the sandbar every time I go out. Maybe there is something else going on with it? Has the impeller been changed?
