Re: Skinnywater & mattttt25

I have had to put down a few of these stray dogs in the past. The risk to my family was too great. If its someones pet, it should have a collar, be tied up, or in a pen, or all three. If a dog runs loose on my property without a collar, its risking its life. My dog is in a pen, where it should be. If someone doesn't want their pet shot, then keep it off of my property.

You kill me soulwinner,...... you prefer dogs over people? You really should change your name.

Ugg I've noticed that on this forum don't bring
anthing agains't Dog's or Cats! Just leave my
squirrels, Rats, and mice alone... PETA! Speaking
here.. People Eating Tasty Animals... Sorry my Rat friends.. but you are the other White meat :)
Dogs do create a problem.. unlike a cat who likes to sit on the boat, when walking our dog.. a PIT BULL was dragging his owner a 300 lb kid To attack our dog.. Whished I'd
been carring my 45 cal.. next time I will be...

Re: Skinnywater & mattttt25

We had packs of wild dogs (15-20) that would run through our farm when I was a wee kid in northern KY . They killed our ducks, chased and killed cattle, THEY ARE DANGEROUS! My father shot a good many as they passed through. You could hear and see them coming and he would load every gun he had and place them on the porch. The dogs would attack everything in there path.

My father once shot my own dog with bird shot to stop him from chasing cattle. That dog was a stray border collie that he took in.

These dogs can not be trained to do otherwise after they have survived as a pack. These dogs all looked the same. Large redish-brown short-hair hounds.

I didnt read the posts between skinny and matt yet so that is my take on the dog subject so far.
Hope this post helps add some background on the issue and the hard feelings soften up soon.

ojb

Re: Skinnywater & mattttt25

Please allow me to clarify:

"I prefer dogs to people" - My dogs love me unconditionally. I recirocate. They ask nothing from me, I ask them to watch my property, to let me know when someone comes around, to patrole the house at night when they hear something while I am fast asleep. (two of the dogs, a rotty and the chahuahua sleep in the bed with us). They will not steel from me. They will not covet my wife or my prossesions(possesion are junk that will not withstand trial by the fire anyway). They are exstatic to see us when we come home, even if we've been gone for a few minutes.

All in all, if humans could behave toward one another as dogs behave toward us, "what a beautifull world this would be" to quote some secular music.

I do a lot of ministering in rough bars, reaching out to men and women that no preacher has reached out to, in places that no preacher would be caught dead for fear his flock may not approve. I see the vialest and most naked forms of hatred (mostly NOT directed toward me :) )
Rascism, greed, hubrous, lust, addiction, anger, lieing.....and there I am in middle of it speaking God's word in the vernacular of the those who need it most.

And whether the patrons be working class white, poor blacks, bikers etc., the human nature I whitness is the same (just more pronounced) as what I have seen is business meetings and political rallies. Sad, isn't it Ralph?

So, untill a dog breaks into my home, molests my son, rapes my wife and/or steals what money we have to do God's work, I will prefer to spend my free time with our lovable little furry quadrepedle children (our dogs really are family mambers :) )

I hope this explains my statement. You may not agree with my feelings here, but opinions are like...well, you know :D I love ya Ralph, be blessed.

Any person may kill any dog that may suddenly attack while the person is peacefully walking or riding and while being out of the enclosure of its owner or keeper, and may kill any dog found killing, wounding, or worrying any horses, cattle, sheep, lambs, or other domestic animals.

Minnesota statue 347.17

Hey SW, I think you mean to be addressing CH in your post. In my post I just wondered how a man of God could ever shoot another man, any man, and sleep like a baby. I kind of remember Jesus saying something about offering up the other cheek. But hey, what do I know, I'm Catholic and we are "all screwed up" and were "closely associated" with people who murdered 6 million people in cold blood, right? And, come on now, could you ever REALLY love a Catholic?

Re: Skinnywater & mattttt25

If you read my original post you would have seen that I put in the conditions on which I could do that, "self defense and protecting the life of another (human being). Sorry Ralph, I'm not gonna sit there with my licensed concealed weapon holstered while someone shoots or stabs me. How do you offer the other cheek if your head is splattered?

And since you brought it up, I did show the post to the Pastor of one of the churches I attend, and pointed my faults and said it was odd that you had no problem accepting as truth the institutionalized protection of perversity within the RCC because it was history you are living, but totally freak out over history you didn't live to see. So, at what point did anti-Semetism die in the RCC. This is a legitimate question to which I am honestly curious. I know it does not exist within the church today as an institutional characteristic, but when did the change occur.

And as for quoteing scripture to me, remeber, I offered the olive branch and you set it on fire. And I turn the other cheak again in the thread, to you, and you continue to attack me. He said "love one another." That is the Last Commandement. I'm trying. Will you join me?

Wow Ralph and SW.... you guys are on the same side wether you want to be or not. Please forget past arguments and for the good of all of us who enjoy BOTH of your posts put this behind. You have both made great statements and I hope we all have learned a bit from each of you. If you guys would just bring the attack on charicter down just a bit , it might possably make it easier for the other to see your point without feeling like they have to defend themselves. You guys are both Christians tring to get to the same place I chalange each of you to go to the Bible and see what it says about conflict.

Re: Skinnywater & mattttt25

I will post what I know about strays. I visit the northern MI area very often. I have family up there. Stray dogs running in packs are fare game to any hunter that comes across them. They chase the deer out onto the ice in the winter. The deer carcass washes up in the spring/summer. This is not good for tourism.

Also, it is not safe for the wild life or the humans.

Anyone that thinks an animal is worth more than a human, needs to go back and read the bible. The animals are here for us.

I have and will continue to shoot any packs of wild dogs. Not wolves mind you, unless it is for self defense. I have shot coyote as well in the south west. A stray that is not sickly, I will assist. Packs, I will destroy. It's a shame, but it has to be done.

Well said and thanks mikeandronda. I will eave it alone.

On a liter note, Specer Jr is snappy little dresser. My son used to be one to until he started skate boarding. Now, in his expression of individuality, he looks just like all the other skaters

Again, I offer the peace pipe Ralph.

mikeandronda, did you see the goats SBN raises? They have Shofars growing right out of thier heads! Isn't that awesome?

LOL matt.....seems to me it doesnt take much for posts to shift much latly. Could it be the boating season is getting closer to the end? I bet it will "heat" up around here after it ices over here in the north and all us yankee boaters are frustrated about being landlocked. SW i havent seen his goats but I sure would like to see that. And SW let me offer some words of encouragement my boy did the skater thing for years and has since out grown it and well to be frank he is quite on top of the fashion thing now. Good looking and dressing kid. There always hope :) :D :)

Re: Skinnywater & mattttt25

Well before Vatican II

And I have no problem accepting as truth the abuse charges because proof has been provided. After all a Priest was sentenced to Jail and the Church has admitted the abuse happened. What I don't accept as proof is some notion that becuase anti-semnitism existed that some how becomes a close association with the Third Reich and the approval of the murder of 6 million people.

Truce. Just in time too because i was itchin to be a smart a$$ about the horns ;)

Re: Skinnywater & mattttt25

Thanks mikeandronda. I think Tom may be growing out of the skater thing now because he is taking school more seriously. He is such a handsome young man, I would love see him dress a little better, but I would rather see him dress like a skater and smile, than wear preppy clothes and frown.

About the horns, go to page two of the member photos thread and there pictures of Byte Walkers goats, and below thatare SBN's goats. The one in thepicture has a nice set of shofars connected to his skull. :D
