Hello,

This is a slide show of the project I did this winter. It all started with a small soft spot. Mechanically the boat is in excellent shape. Don't be too critical when you watch it. My goal wasn't a hardcore restoration. I was just trying to fix the deck and stringers. I didn't replaced things that didn't need to be replaced. I wanted to make sure the boat was ready by spring. Also, the boat was 3 hours from me, so I couldn't work on it during the week. This is my first boat, and I really only plan on using it 2-3 summers. I am very very happy with how the whole project turned out.

Enjoy !

Amazing, it looks new and perfect til you got into it then its all rot.
The whole bowrider thing is puzzling , furniture and rugs out in the open.
The only way to get a good one is to DIY.

Re: Slide show of my deck and stringer replacement

thanks ! Yeah I kept going back and forth with whether or not I should put carpet in or some non slip floor. I don't do a lot of fishing, and I like how the carpet is on bare feet. My boat is kept in high and dry so I don't have to cover it, it always has a chance to dry out. Also, I plan on only keeping the boat for 2-3 years most and I thought the carpet would be more appealing to the next buyer.. Maybe not though..

So how long did it take you from start to finish with jus the stringers and the deck replacement. I am asking cause I have to repace mine on my 1988 invader.

With your skill and knowledge you could look for a nice project boat next time around, theres some great boats out there that need a stringer job.
Pick one up cheap and save $10K.

That looks great! I think you did a super job of walking that tightrope between ignoring it all and tearing the whole boat apart to replace everything. It looks to me like just about how I'd do it... and probably will be after this season.

How long did it all take, and how much did it cost??

Well done sir! That's a job you can be proud of. I can't believe how rotted it was after seeing how nice it looked with the carpet over it. Where can I pick up some of that pretty toenail polish:D

Excellent job brother! My hats off to you. I went through basically the exact same restore a few months back..except I had to replace the center stringers too. Very rewarding to get back on the water. Good luck this summer.
