Small engine alternator questions??

Hi everyone. i recently just purchased a new yamaha 4-stroke 4 hp outboard and was wondering if anyone knows of an alternator that can be used with this motor. I know it doesn't come set up for one but is their any thing i can use to just slowly charge a battery? Thanks for any input.

You might be able to get a kit, I know they're available for larger small 4-strokes. But frankly you'd get more total charging output from a $20 solar charger from Harbor Freight and have a lot less hassle. Small outboard alternators have small output and naturally they only charge when the motor is running. A solar charger charges anytime the sun is shining.
